Dominic’s introduction to the professional his professional music career came when he came to the attention of Mick Clerkin and Ritz records after having won a talent competition in Co Monaghan for which he received a minor recording deal as part of his prize and from there came the first of his albums “The Green Fields Of Ireland”
We go back to January 1989 when his record contract with Ritz was signed and later in the year he was to link up with the Queen Of Irish Country Music, Philomena Begley guesting on her sold out UK tour, also releasing his debut album for Ritz “Try A Little Kindness” .
Dominic has been described as the “ultimate entertainer” having the ability to approach songs with ease and perform a vibrant mix of musical genres such as classic country, rock n roll, has the strength in his voice to deliver a power ballad or two and the soul to inspire his audience with inspirational classics.
Dominic’s fan base of all ages, stretches throughout the world and to this very day still remains to be one of the most popular Irish singers touring
His success today is a far cry from his humble beginnings, born into a family of six, four girls and two boys of which he is second oldest, his father a local breadman, with his mother at home looking after the welfare of the family of six. His stepping stone days to the stage were as an Irish dancer from the tender age of six, starting at his local town hall in his hometown of Omagh in Co Tyrone., later becoming an Irish dancing champion.
He spent his early educational days being educated by the Christian Brothers and also spending a year at the local Omagh Technical college prior to leaving school at the age of 16. From there he became a car parts storeman for the next 8 years, combining his interest in music and becoming a member of a local band “ The Melody Boys” This is were he started to learn the craft of stage and entertainment playing the local pubs, clubs, weddings, dinner parties and other events in his homeland eventually leading him to playing at the cream of the UK’s concert halls and theatres. For Dominic it’s been a meteoric rise, a truly magical journey.
He is the proud father of four sons and one daughter. In his recording career he has recorded over 20 studio albums to date, with his latest recording released in 2021 “A Letter To You ” also releasing numerous singles, videos and DVD’s
Dominic’s extensive touring career has seen him open for and share the stage with some of Country Music greats, Charley Pride, Tammy Wynette, Kenny Rogers, Crystal Gayle and Don Williams while he enjoys sell out UK and Irish tours in his own right.
